Ingredients for the Cape Cod Chocolate Cake

1 3/4 cup Cake flour   1 1/2 cup Sugar
2  tablespoons Baking powder
1/4  tablespoons Soda

1 cup + 2 T evaporated milk
1  tablespoons Salt
1/2 cup Shortening
2 Unbeaten eggs
2 Squares melted chocolate
1  tablespoons Vanilla
 

The Method :

1- Stir flour and baking powder - soda - salt and sugar - all together  into a mixing bowl.

2- Drop shortening and milk into dry ingredients.
note : Do not dilute the evaporated milk but use full strength - Beat, beat, beat for about 2 minutes on low speed in your electric mixer.

3- then  add eggs and melted chocolate and Lastly add vanilla- then Beat all together for 1 minute.

4- Scrape down and beat again for another minute - next -turn into two layer cake pans and bake at 350 degrees for 30 - 35 minutes.

5- Frost with butter cream - frosting to which 1/2 cup walnuts - chopped fine have been added.
